He had the courage to back the war against terrorism and the Dems turn their backs. Pretty sad especially when the other guy is such a scum bag.

They turned their backs on him because he had the courage to think for himself and vary from the "party line" and the Dems couldn't take it.

Things like this will be the reason the Dems will not recapture the congress or White House.

Which party is Lieberman actually in? I assume that he started our a Democrat a long time ago, but it seems that things have changed. I don't know how the Democrats turned their back on him because he has so vocally refuted all of their positions for many years now.

I too fear that the parties are becoming too polarizing, but Joe Lieberman seems to be part of the reason that people in the middle got a bad name in politics.

The Dem's have not turned their back on Lieberman. Lieberman is just losing to another Democrat. If he pulls it out today Lieberman will have Dem backing come this November.

Democrats have NO backbone, no courage of their convictions, no moral basis. They are against the war for no other reason than hatred for the Bush administration, and because it exposed Germany and France for the double-player scoundrels that those two gov'ts are.

they didn't like someone that would not go far left......and beat down the President for no reason.....the main excuse is that he voted for the war....but so did Kerry and Clinton....they are not getting their butts dragged through the mud.....you msut follow the Lemmings to ahve their support.....Jow had his own mind, and went the direction of being right, within his mind......he voted for the Libs line 90% of the time.......guess he should have stayed in line 99% of the time.......

Because he is not liberal enough for them, their is no room for a true moderate in the Democratic party anymore, and the ones that are moderate keep their mouth shut.
