Eric Clapton
"Tears in Heaven" is a ballad written and performed by Eric Clapton about pain he felt from the 1991 death of his 4-year-old son, Conor, who fell from a 53rd story window in his mother's New York City condominium; Clapton was at a nearby hotel at the time. By all accounts, the death appeared to be simply a tragic accident, and Clapton was distraught for months afterwards.[1]
Co-written by Clapton and Will Jennings, the song was initially featured on the soundtrack to the film Rush, and it won a Grammy for Song of the Year in 1993. It was also included on Clapton's Grammy award-winning album, Unplugged.
