Did anyone receive antibiotics during their pregnancy for a urinary tract infection? My doc has prescribed me Ceclor for about a month. It was a urologist that prescribed it to me, not an OB-GYN so I am going to check with my OB doctor first. I'd just like reassurance from anyone that babies can be born perfectly healthy when the mom was on antibiotics!

Most of the time the doc will tell you that treating it with anitbiotics outweighs the risk of going untreated.
I have taken antibiotics during both of my pregnancies, not for UTIs though. My daughter turned out perfect.
Always check with your OB before taking anything.

I would check with OB-GYN but I was put on antibiotics for my urinary tract infection. By the OB-GYN. But I don't remember the name of the antibiotic that she gave me. So you might wanna check with ur doctor... Just to be sure everything is okay. Good Luck..

Whenever you take anything during pregnancy, check with your OB/GYN, pharmacist and/or a drug book. Ceclor is a class B drug, meaning it is unlikely to be harmful to an unborn baby

I've had a few moms who received chemotherapy for breast cancer with toxic IV drugs during pregnancy and their babies were born seemingly normal. People worry too much about what they take and eat during pregnancy. Eat basic foods in moderation, try to avoid raw, uncooked or unknown foods. Take OTC and prescribed drugs only when necessary and only after letting your MD and pharmacist you are pregnant.

Definitely check with your OB first, but yeah, pregnant women take antibiotics all the time without harm to their babies.

You have to treat a UTI with antibiotics. UTI's can cause preterm labor. Preterm labor is worse than any risk from antibiotics. I had repeated UTI's when I was pregnant with my second and took antibiotics almost the whole 3rd trimester. She is now a healthy 2 year old.

yes I have a UTI when prego with my 2nd and he turned out healthy and fine. Make sure you check with your OB before taking it though. Just in case. good luck and CONGRATS

You need to check with your Dr. or pharmacist. I had to take antibiotics while I was pregnant. It was Amoxicillin. My daughter is fine. Good Luck.
