most of those free ringtone thingies are scams, so there's really no way to get a free ringtone unless your carrier has some special going on or somehting.
trust me, i learned the hard way.

If you have a phone where you can record audio all of the ringtones are free.

your best bet is to make them (or have someone make them for you)! what kind of phone do you have? they are pretty easy to make and to load on your phone. the best part about it is you can pick whatever part of a song you want to hear
