Because the media gave Harvey Levin an outlet for his bigotry against Mel Gibson as a Christian with freedom of speech.

No one has to "try to embarass" Gibson; he's embarrassed himself with years of anti-Semitism, gay-bashing, and sexism. Alcohol doesn't "make" people say things they don't believe; it removes the inhibitions from saying things people might self-edit. It's nice that he apologized, but with his history I'll need to see different behavior before I buy it.
Creating good entertainment shouldn't give someone a pass on spewing hatred. He has a "free-speech" right to say whatever he wants--and Levin and the public have a right to chastise him for it. What creeps me out is how many people, including posters here, think what he said is no big deal. Substitute "Christians," "Asians," African-Americans," or any other group into his speech--how quickly would people let it drop then?

Mel Gibson is a great actor, director, and guy. he screwed up big deal. Harvey needs to get his own life and stop critisizing other people just cuz he SUX!!
