Should Kentucky Speedway get a NASCAR Nextel Cup Race?

KY Speedway has sold out ever Craftsman Truck & Busch Series race it has ever held...does it deserve a Nextel Cup race at least ever over year?

FYI -- there is an ongoing lawsuit by KY Spd's owners to force NASCAR to allow tracks that meet a set criteria to bid to host a race.

It is worth noting that the nearest commericial centers to the Speedway are Oldham & Boone Counties- both of which are in the Top 60 Wealthiest Counties in the US and would really be impacted by a Nextel. I'm sure there would be some big money donors to host a race if the court favors KY

The latest on the lawsuit is that the US Court ruled that the case should stay in KY, NASCAR wanted trial in NC. Proceedings will begin in 2007.

There is also talk of KY Spd's owner's buying Pocono & moving one of its 2 races to KY

I know Kentucky wants a Cup race in a bad way.They have a really nice track and have sunk a ton of money in it to try and get the Cup boys there.I knew about this lawsuit but haven't heard anything about it in a long time.I know NASCAR caved in the Texas lawsuit and gave them a second race.I think NASCAR told the Kentucky officials that there was no room in the Cup schedule for them to get a date before they spent all that money on the track.Maybe they can work something out on it though because it really is a nice track and they do have good fan support.

Yes they should. I live in KY and have been to the speedway, it is great. The only thing they need to change if the get aNextel race is to build more seating.

I'm sure there are reasons why they don't, but hey maybe they could fix those reasons and have a race!
