It's because in the shower you are like totally vulnerable and stuff. And it makes the movie, you know, like more scarier.

Humm... well... it's thought that whatever clothing you are wearing when you die is the clothing you will wear in eternity. Perhaps being naked when you die is best that way you won't have to wear the same clothes forever.
