After 12 yrs of employment, I was terminated from my job because of my attitude, company fought my unemployment, when rec'd letter of determination, listed as reason for discharge was I was absent. needless to say they lost. However the mgr and I did not get along for the past 5 years. Does she have the right to fire me for no reason? No at will form was signed by me.Do I have a case for a wrongful termination lawsuit?

I think you may have, but i'm not sure.

According to provisions that i've learnt (limited) you have fair grounds on the act on Unfair dismissal if you are in the UK. But you better seek professional advise since this is much more closer to your life.

You would require to give more material facts, in case you are really opting to sue. But 12 years in one place, its quite impossible to put you out (unless you are seriously in trouble i.e. mishandling confidential company information), since, you are a senior employee (assumption) and you may have certain legal privileges for being one i think but not too sure about.

Wish you all the best, if you do have sufficient grounds.

Where do you live? Many places in the US employment is at will regardless of what you sign. If you live in an employment at will (also called right to hire or right to work) state you can be let go if your boss does not like your haircut or your outfit.

Check the labor law where you live.
