Turn on Yahoo's junk mail filter in the options and also set a rule to have non-address e-mails, where the from address does not contain an @ symbol, to be deleted. Ask Yahoo Help (top right of screen) if you need help doing that.

SPAM usually doesn't have specific or correct email addresses, the email client such as hotmail or yahoo receives it and sends the email to the closest match. they try to catch as many as they can and just send it to your BULK folder, that you just can't stop unless you delete the folder, but then, if you do, the email may go directly to your inbox. in the YAHOO/MAIL/OPTIONS you can have all email going to your BULK folder be automatically deleted upon receipt. both Yahoo and Hotmail directly send email to your INBOX folder that originates from anyone listed in your contacts list or in your email's address book or IM. if you just receive too many JUNK emails, get a new email account, notify all your contacts, and do not use that email address at websites, like for 'sign-ins' and 'register for account'. many websites sell your email address to their advertisers, which help make their site free-to-use, and those advertisers send you junk mail. i, personally, keep two email accounts, one for my friends and family, and one for business and web sites. hope this helps :)

I had an similar difficulty and it completely went out of control at the same time as at a time i replaced into receiving 40+ unsolicited mail mails in an afternoon. merely record those emails as unsolicited mail and dont reply/unsubscribe to any of them. searching on which e-mail provider you're utilizing reporting messages as unsolicited mail could forestall them from achieving you INBOX back.

One way to make a start, if using e-mail software such as "Outlook Express" or whatever, they usually have a feature that allows you to set up "keywords" / e-mail addresses you consider spam (e.g. ones that appear regularly) to be filtered into the TRASH folder.
Another, is to use a Spam filter....... there's one built into ZONEALARM INTERNET SECURITY SUITE (alongside Firewall, Anti-virus & Anti-Spyware utilities)... or there's other sources for this type of software too.
Finally, you can try cut down by reporting to the buggers thanks to an easy to use service at http://www.spamcop.net
All you do is copy the message header & body into their online form, hit the submit button.... their webserver figures out who it needs report to..... brings up another page saying who the reports are going to be sent to..... hit the button, and that's them reported.
For Spam messages with links to "Adultfriendfinder.com" or "Wildmatch.com", I've found it also helps to go to the "report spam" link at the bottom of their website and report it directly to the site owners..... that seems to have brought the plague of them on my best friend's nieces YAHOO group to a halt since I was installed as moderator.
Don't click on the links in the mails, especially if the URL is something like:
http://www.idiotspammerwebsite.com/?123456
that /?123456 (or whatever number) is an affiliate ID link, which basically tells the site the spammer is promoting which of their advertisers they have to pay for getting a mug to visit their website.
Instead, investigate the site by visiting by typing the URL into your browser without the affiliate ID link (Before doing this i always crank my ZONEALARM Firewall protection up to full just in case) and see if there's a link there for reporting spam related to their site. Though obviously give it a miss if it's promoting something less than legal, just in case the FBI are monitoring the site or something..... with them ones just stick with reporting it via spamcop + for phishing scams involving banks or PayPal, report it to them.
