Yes eventually. But there is a way to kill them though. Buy some apple cider vinegar. In a glass (I use a wine glass because it is elevated, but kind of shallow) fill half full with water, then pour in some vinegar (they like the smell of this), then squirt some dish soap (like Dawn, Joy, Palmolive, just whatever you have). The vinegar will attract them, and they'll jump in, and the dish soap will make them unable to move their legs to get out and they'll drown.

Check your plants.... they might be the cause---if you have any. I used to have fruit flies really bad and i thought they were coming from the sink drain and poured straight bleach down there but the next day i saw fruit flies again. I took a bottle of balsamic vinegar that was almost empty and left the top off, the fruit flies would fly in and die and after a day or two they were gone. It was a tall neck bottle so i don't think they could get out but maybe it will help! good luck!

Yes, but remember...time flies like an arrow, but fruit flies like a banana.

They will eventually go away or die (their life span is pretty short). Just make sure that nothing sugary or fruity gets left out for a week.
