Hip-Hop or Rock or Both?

Question

I like both, but I'm rooted in hiphop because of my culture. Rap is 95% crap, it's not hiphop. Rap is about who you are, and what you got and that's it. Hip-Hop is poetry that is actually ment to educate and inform. Before you start bashing My music...reconize the difference people.

I'm a big Rap/Rock combo kinda guy. I really like Linkin Park. They came out a few years ago and some people were blown away... others couldn't handle it and bashed them for following the trend. Ask me... they started the trend. They have defined the rap/rock scene. I mean, their music matters... they talk about real issues and really reach out to fans. I've attended two LP concerts and I can't get enough. I'm really looking forward to their upcoming albumn. Should be rockin.

BTW ... check out Fort Minor. Mike Shinoda's (of LP) side project. If you like rap or hip/hop ... it's tight.

Hip hop is good to dance to after a few beers. My preference is Rock/alternative. I despise Rap because it's always about "slap the b***h/h*e, better not look at me wrong or I'll shoot you in the face and Look at all of my money.... It's so annoying when you hear someone talk so much about themselves and how big and bad they are. But I do agree with you that Hip hop isn't like that just rap.

Have you heard Linkin Park with Jay-Z. Perfect combination of the intensity of rock and the poetry of hip-hop.

Rock. I don't mind hip hop at all but being middle aged I'm more in tune with what I grew up with which is Pink Floyd, Rush, BTO, Rolling Stones.. etc...

Rock is my main favorite, but I listen to almost anything. I'm not into the make your ears bleed metal or the violent gangsta rap AT ALL, but I like most everything else.
