I had an IUD inserted after my first child was born. Within 1 week I was having horrendous abdominal, lower back pain and went to the emergency room. The doctor took it out and said that I had a severe infection from it that could have caused infertility if not removed..My advice to you...get it out.

I am an alternative medicinal therapist and an ex nurse. The lady who has just given you that piece of advice is RIGHT. These copper IUD's are dangerous. They have been known to move and cause internal bleeding and if you have sex it is liable to push it upwards. Get it removed.
There are plenty of alternatives.
