Has anyone used this program to purchase a home? If so, how difficult was it to find a home? Thank you . . .

The answer lies with your county housing authority. Call and arrange an appointment and they will advise you as to what is available in your area.

Good luck with your plans.

I am a Moderator on a website that answers alot of questions for HUD tenants and people just searching for Section 8 housing. As far as I know its pretty easy to get on the list for the program (different in every state) We've had a few people trying the Homeownership program in different areas and for the most part they seem satisfied with the whole process. on lady moved in her home about 2 months ago. Visit http://www.Section8HudHomes.com website and you should find more info and resources. I hope I answered your question.
