It says in the bible to treat you body like a temple. Now, if you believe tattooing is an art form than putting art on your body isn't defimating "your temple". I have 4 tattoos. I love love love them. I don't regret any of them. They are all hidden and for my own personal satisfaction. They all have meaning and are done very well. It is a personal decision, but make sure you don't just get some random one. Remember you will have it forever. If you aren't totally sure of the placement of design, go to a tattoo artist that you trust and maybe he could draw it on and color it in and you can wear it for a week or so and decide if it is right for you. If I live a good life, and treat people well, I doubt I will be cast out of Heaven for having a Tattoo. Good Luck to you.

Good choice not to get a tattoo. although they are considered cool by many and many have them u have to keep in mind what u r going to look like later in life as a senior citizen. Your tattoo is going to look less than becoming! Your pic could look more like a road kill being stepped on by a sneaker! If u can live with the fact u can't reverse the procedure than run with it. I mean u would need skin grafts or peals to sort of get rid of ur tattoo. depending on its size and location if u didn't want it to show all the time u would have to put it like--on ur butt! it certainly is an individual thing. There are other ways of self expression not as permanent

It really is a very personal choice. You also need to look at who was that particular verse aimed at? Because of what Jesus Christ did ....he fulfilled all the requirements of the law.....we are no longer under bondage to that old law system. We are free in Christ Jesus to worship him in Spirit and Truth and not worry if we are breaking some old testament(ie, old covenant) law. (Which were given to the Nation of Israel and not to the Gentiles...meaning everyone not a Jew) Pray over it and then be confident in your heart about the choice you make!!!! BTW....I have been a Christian for 6 years and have 5 tattoos! One of them is a peace sign with a lily of the valley growing straight up thru it! No Jesus, No Peace! Know Jesus, Know Peace!

What's Leviticus have anything to do with getting a tattoo? Here's the cliffnotes version:

Laws concerning molten gods, peace-offerings, scraps of the harvest, fraud, the deaf, blind, elderly, and poor, poisoning the well, hate, sex with slaves, self harm, shaving, prostitution, sabbaths, sorcery, familiars, strangers, and just weights and measure (Leviticus 19)

Self Harm:
Self-harm (SH) is deliberate injury inflicted by a person upon his or her own body. Some scholars use more technical definitions related to specific aspects of behavior. This injury may be aimed at relieving otherwise unbearable emotions, sensations of unreality and numbness, or for other reasons.
also known as self-injury (SI), self-inflicted violence (SIV), self-injurious behavior (SIB), and self-mutilation[3], although this last term has connotations that some people find worrisome, inaccurate, or offensive. When discussing self-harm with someone who engages in it, it is suggested to use the same terms and words which that person uses, e.g. "cutting".[4] Self-harm is usually dissociated from an attempt at suicide; the person who self-harms is not usually seeking to end his or her own life, but is instead hoping to cope with or relieve unbearable emotional pressure or some kind of discomfort.[5

I don't see anything about tattoos in there, do you? I have two tatoos, a cross with my son's name, and two interlocking hearts with my name and my husbands name in them, on my back. I view this as my tribute to God for the good he has given me. I am sacrificing my body, in my own way, to pay tribute to the Lord. Other people may view it as making beautiful the body that the Lord gave you. What's wrong with that?

I think the Old Testament Law was fulfilled in the death and resurrection of Christ. Therefore our freedom in Christ will allow us to get a tattoo if we want but I do think you should think very carefully before doing so. Your body is a temple.

If you believe that your faith says not to then don't get one. If you do get it are you going to end up with religious convictions for the rest of your life?

I know lots of christians who have tattoos so it all depends on what you think will happen to you in the end.

Do what you feel in your heart. I personally do not like tattoos. But on occasion I will get my lower back airbrushed. It last for weeks and yet its not permanent

Jesus died for our sins....we are all obliged to sin...if u think it is against ur religion, dont get it.....but if u really want one dont let ur beliefs interfere with that...I am a christian and i have one...we have done many other worse things that the bible says is wrong but it doesnt mean we're going to hell
