People will always wonder why blacks just don't shut up and assimilate into American culture. People will not understand that it is okay and perfectly normal for a group of people to want to take care of and support their own. People will not understand that blacks long to celebrate a culture of their own. People will not fully understand that blacks don't truly desire to be a part of a system that has done them wrong time and time again.
Some assume that because blacks have BET, NAACP, or whatever, that it takes away from what they are able to get. That's just dumb. Some whites feel that EVERYTHING in America should be in reach to them and they should not be denied entrance to anything. Some feel they have a right to everything.
It is just plain old ignorance on the part of some because they don’t know history. The negative effects that were created by those past leaders who made the conscious decision to dehumanize blacks for centuries led to where we are today.

Try being a bit more specific and not toss out a blanket condemnation that "white people" as in all inclusive consider the the events and organizations you mention as racist.
Which white people, groups (yes, the KKK are clowns) organizations or businesses do you claim and can support with some validity are racist?
In my opinion making such a broad brush term as "white people" is little different then the ignorant white people and others who would say why are all crack dealers black. Any reasonable person knows such a statement is wrong, inflammatory and....racist.
I do not agree with the inference of your questions that whites are racist toward the events and groups you mention.
During a college lecture I attended in 1974 I listen to a black female college professor declare that blacks can not be racist due to the economic disparity between blacks and whites and blacks and Asians. I disagreed with her idea during the Q& A period.
For discussion, do you believe that blacks can not be racist? If so, why?

You have asked an excellent question. Although the answer is obvious to Blacks and other non-Whites, I would be happy to attempt to explain this to you. The most logical way to begin is to understand the history of this country. I am not talking about what you may have learned in school as it was very inaccurate and misleading. Black people have long been part of this country and as you might know we were brought here en masse in chains as slaves. To keep us in our "place" we were denigrated and reviled and made to believe that we were inferior. Whites on the other hand, had to be taught that they were superior to ensure that we did not rise up and take over this country. At one time in many places in the U. S., Blacks although slaves, outnumbered Whites. Therefore society in America evolved specifically for the benefit and betterment of White people. As a result, Blacks and in many cases with the help of enlightened Whites, developed and promoted other institutions that Black people could participate in to enhance and showcase their talents. Even though now there has been great progress in the form of integration, many of America's institutions do not fully embrace Blacks and other non-whites. Of course, race relations on a personal level may appear to be acceptable. However, this is usually the case only if Whites are not uncomfortable with Blacks sometimes being in a position of authority or outcompeting Whites. This is a very sensitive and subtle situation that occurs probably more often than you are aware. Whites are usually oblivious to these situations since they are not adversely affected on a daily basis. Being in a majority white situation continuously guarantees and insulates most whites from having to face or deal with these situations, which is probably the reason why you have asked this question now. Before we can ever hope for a true and equal society there must be some give and take. For the last few hundred years, Black have been doing the giving and Whites have been taking. Please accept this in the spirit it given. Therefore, this is the reason why you not only have the HBCUs, NAACP, Miss Black America etc... but there are many, many more organizations that you may never hear of the address specifically the cultural aspects of the Black community. You must know that these were not designed nor are they intended to exclude Whites as much as to provide an uplift or outlet for hardworking Blacks who refuse to be ignored or overlooked by a majority White society. You should also know that when we meet in our organizations, we meet for out betterment and do not waste time hating Whites.

Many white people feel threatened by these organizations because they feel like it is taking away from them. Most of the one's who make this comment are reacist. Some white people, however, just feel like if we were to make a WET, or white miss america pagent or white's only college fund then we would be called racist and the organization would be cancelled very quickly. Which is true. There are so many people today who just can't get over the whole racism thing and won't let it go. These people just need to get over themselves. Black people are a minority and deserve to have things like this. The way that white people used to treat them should more than make up for this. But on the same subject, what's in the past is in the past. Let's just let it go ok!

dont know yo, i guess because they are built to help blacks, I guess you right we had to start all this **** because of the racism to blacks,Think we just started going to school with white kids 30 years ago, then that **** had to go to supreme court just so a little black girl could go to school. Back in the 60's and 70's whites actually denied us **** because of color meals rides education. The thing thats so funny is that those racist people during that time now have kids that control the senate

Hmmmmm................... let's see. Here's an example. Let's talk NAACP. If a white, chinese, black, and indian person were up fpr a scholarship, it would not depend upon who had the highest GPA, ect. It would automatically go to the black one because they are black. Can we say RACISM please? Now as for BET. I don't have a problem with it, but, if there was a WET blacks all over would be screaming racism!!!!!!! You danm well no it as much as I do. And the Miss America thing, that's a total crock of **** and you know it. You don't want to be considered a minority, yet you keep seperating yourself's. Makes sense huh? Think about it before you spew your BS!

It's not racism, it's a form a segregation, which many blacks worked extremely hard for an end to.
Why is it wrong for white people to have shows, awards, funds, etc.? If that were to occur, that particular thing would be ostracized and deemed immoral.

They're not racist organizations. Blacks had to do for their own back then. No one else would do it, so these organizations were started to give blacks a sense of hope. They were established to be mean or racist.

If there were to be a white only college fund it will be racist. If there were to be WET (White Entertainment Television) it would be racist. Why is it that you would see these things as whites trying to be racist?
No, I am not white. I am just saying it how it is.

They don't see it like that. They dont understand that Whites have like 50 channels, and BET is one. IT is a station geared towards black culture. I dont know how many white people really think that. And if they do, they are ignorant. (I'm white)
