The ancient and unsurpassable card game "Lexicon". Can be used at any level and my students all love it!

Ok, so the hangman idea is good, but I do it with bonuses : I choose a sentence rather than a word. For a difficult or unusual letter give 5 points. If theres is a common letter (a vowel or "s" ,"t" etc) make it a joker. This means that the other team collect those points. e.g. Team A pick "S". There are 5 "S" . Team B get 5 points.

If you are doing reading comp try substituting words with a particular letter for something else: every word with an "S" is "fart" for example. Then the sentence " Elly laughs louder and louder" becomes "Elly farts louder and louder"! Of course you can substitute any letter for anyword. This is one of my kids favourites.

I teach English in Korea and would love to share ideas with you. If interested, please contact me!! Have fun!!

Scattergories Jr.

If you don't know it.. look it up online. It's about $20 and it's great. If you do know it, it'd be easy to make up your own version if $ is short.
