I think it's better to give -- not because I'm some kind of goody-good, but I actually derive a lot of satisfaction in helping others. It's nice to receive also, and I always appreciate the thought. But when I do something for someone, or give a gift, it's never with the thought that my giving will be reciprocated. You really should try it sometimes -- just give without expecting anything in return. It will make you feel good inside. Trust me!

I'm not going to say I don't like to receive things (who doesn't?), but I think from an overall point of view it is better to give. When you give, more people benefit than when you receive. I can give to any amount of people and the possibilities are endless, but when I receive only I benefit (for the most part). If everyone had my viewpoint and gave, then we would all be receiving in return also and we would have the best of both worlds. No one wins when everyone wants to receive because there would be no one left to give.

The best acts of giving are those in which we don't expect anything in return. It should come from the goodness of our hearts and the act itself should be reward enough. It is then, when we get the most in return.

The Bible states that it is more blessed to give than to receive. As a child I only thought of receiving but as I matured I found I get much more pleasure in giving, not just gifts but time, love, help to those in need, prayer for the less fortunate. To receive blessings, one must bless others.

I think it is better to give than receive. Not just in material things but your time and energies, your friendship, loyalty etc. I think that the more you give the more richly you are blessed in return so in essence, by giving, you are receiving as well.

Try giving more and you will understand why. Take your eyes off of receiving and see how you enjoy giving - it is much more enjoyable and rewarding than receiving.

i don't like to give or receive, i guess it really depends if you like it or not....but to receive you must give so the choice is yours...i've heard from people that at first they only like to receive and then they learned to give and they enjoy it a lot more!!

Its nice when both are in balance, when you recieve as much as you give and give as much as you recieve. But since you have no control over how much you recieve just give what you can, or in other words, do what you can, with what you have where you are. XD
