If the coins are intended for collection, you may not want to clean them at all. If you must, I would use dishwashing detergent and a soft cloth. Before you do anything, I suggest that you talk to a coin dealer, as the slightest scratch from a cleaning effort can reduce the coin's value markedly.

If these are collectible please,please by the horned god do not clean them at all.Bright shiny objects attract jackdaws but not coin collectors. All household cleaners are corrosive to some extent and will erase the surface features of a coin. One should not even handle them with your bare fingers as the bodily oils themselves will adversely effect them.

I think i heard you can use toothpaste, but be careful not to get any scratches on it or they won't be worth much or any thing on it.
