You should restore the files because I think you mean the file wininet and it is a DLL file that is used by Internet Explorer.

Try replacing it with http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-files.shtml?wininet

This is a site that restores and replaces your damaged Windows Files.

There are forums that discussed this issue and it seems that IE 7.0 has fixed this bug error. If you dont want to install IE 7.0 then just restore the file back to the old ones if it has been corrupted. You might want to do a system restore if the restoration fails.

Do a system restore back to a date before you got the virus. That should restore the dll file.

You could try System Restore if you're running Windows XP.

Then, run Spybot and AdAware. Very reliable free tools you can download from http://www.safer-networking.org/ and http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/

McAfee also offer a very useful utility, "Stinger", free at http://vil.nai.com/vil/stinger/ as a one-off tool to remove nasties.

There should be an option to heal the infected file. Can't you do that? (I own AVG and it rocks!)
