Apple used to include chargers with the iPods, but I believe that stopped when they discontinued minis. Now you can buy a charger separately for about $30. It's worth it! Especially if you travel a fair amount. You can also buy a chord that plugs into your car's cigarette lighter that will charge your iPod AND play your music through the car radio! They cost about $25. Also worth it if you spend a lot of time on the road. Hope this helps!

I have never heard of iPods coming with chargers. As far as I know, they only come with the USB cable.
You can buy a car charger and plug the iPod into the cigarette lighter in the car to charge it

You have to buy either an iPod dock ( iRecommend that) or to buy a world iPod charger. With the iPod itself you only get a cable (USB or FireWire -depends on a model) that enables you to connect an iPod to your computer. As you wont be having your computer on the holidays, getting a charger is right thing to do whatsoever.

Even if it came with a charger (ours came with one), you may wish to buy an auxiliary battery pack for the thing. This is a small box (with a short cord and a plug that goes into the iPod) into which you can put batteries. It is convenient to use when traveling, and can be had for about US$20. (We bought one recently.)

you charge the ipod with the cable from the computer, the one you transfer songs to your ipod.. just stick it inyour computer and our ipod and it starts the chargin'!! ;)
i thought that was weird, too. hehehe

so basically you need a computer to charge your ipod, unless you have a car charger which is purchased separately
