I'm impressed u say Marino, I totally agree, most people say no because he never won a title but if he would of played with a great team like the Niners, Broncos or Cowboys he would of easily won a title. He carried his team every game without a true running game and a bad defense. While Montana, Elway and Aikman always had all pro offensive lines and running backs and receivers, not to mention great D's. Great question!

Heres my list and the reasons:
1. Johnny Unitas. He won quite a few championships with the Colts and the toughest competitor ever!
2. Otto Graham. He won the most overall championships and was a fierce player.
3. Joe Montana. All those super bowl rings and so cool under pressure!
4. Dan Marino. Statistic wise he was the best. If only he would have had some championships.
5. John Elway. Great quarterback especially in the clutch with his last 2 minute drives. Great arm just like Marino!

I've been watching football since the middle of the 1950's and have seen a lot of quarterbacks, men like Otto Graham, YA Tittle, Joe Montana, Dan Marino and many others. I'd have to go with Joe Montana, he had pazazz.

It can't be Dan Marino. If he had actually won a superbowl then it would be marino, but I'm gonna say Joe Montana until Brett Favre breaks Marino's TD record and Elway's wins record. It will be Brett Favre.

Dan Marino with Montana a close #2 although i can see how it can go either way.
Ex. -I'm a huge 49ers fan and i see Marino at #1, however my favorite sports radio host is a huge Dolphins fans and he sees Montana at #1
However if you were to mention another QB besides these two as the best you would be crazy.

I'll say John Elway. He took his team to a lot of super bowls and won 2. He was the best quarterback when the team was trailing in the 4th quarter. Also, he did not have Jerry rice, and the other stars Montana had.

Fran Tarkenton. He had all the records before Marino came along, and never really had awesome weapons on offense to work with.

I think that Steve Young is the best but people didnt really know his true talent because half of his career he backed up Joe Montana
