Over the past years, more and more "minorities" (blacks, immigrants, gays, etc.) keep getting special rights, so with all the "minorities" getting all this special treatment, the White, working, straight, citizens don't get any special rights or treatment or benefits, so doesn't that make people like me the real minority?

You go !!!!! YES IT DOES. I have been saying this all along. When more than equal rights exist they change the majority into the minority.

Ok... I've been reading some of your answers and you seem to have a lot of predjudice beliefs regarding blacks and other minorities. And notice, I did not say racist. I said "predjudice" there is a difference. What kind of special treatment are we getting? You have no idea what so ever what it is like to be black. We don't get special treatment at all. We have to work twice as hard as everyone else just to prove we are on the same level. Especially if you are a minority in a professional field because then we have to combat all of the negative stereotypes about blacks in the world. Racism is still very much alive in this world and it is something that we have to deal with every single day. The only time you feel like a minority is if you are in a situation where you are around a large amount of "minorities". And even then, you still have the upper hand. You need to educate yourself, and learn a little bit of compassion. Realize that you will never understand what it is like to be a minority in this country. We don't get any special treatment. And the same resources that are available to minorities are available to white people too.

YES, the horrible truth it that white, straight, hard working citizens both male and female are the minority. We are also the ones that don't complaining about not getting special treatment like all the other so called minorities, which are not minorities.

minorities don't get special rights or benefits. they sometimes get special treatment and i don't agree with that, but being white can guarantee you at least 'normal' treatment. White people don't get accused and harassed for being white. As far as gay people, not only do they not get special rights, treatments, and benefits, they have fewer rights and benefits than the average American. Problems like this will continue until everyone quits thinking of themselves in terms of groups and we all are treated the same.

she is right. you guys can say there are no special rights for minorities but thats not true. its easier to get help with college funds if your a minority. The national ***** college fund. you dont see the cracker college fund haha. no seriously here lately i have been made to feel pretty inadequate by many of my interracial friends for being white. its just not the cool thing right now.

C'est moi!....I am a true minority of one in a city of about 2,000,000 people. I am a white American living in
China...and I feel pity if other minorities are treated the same as I am....The Chinese are trying to kill me by forcing me to go to dinners, parties, and forcing me to go to the beach and on tours. God, there is just no stopping them. If I ever return to America (and I probably won't) I would need two trailer trucks to carry all the things I have been given. Maybe it is because I respect them as good and kind people and race doesn't enter in to things. It just makes me feel good when a kid calls me grandfather. Maybe I made that ugly term minority go away.

what is a special right?

and no, no matter how cool the minority is treated, that distinction is based on actual numbers. calm down, we're still mostly white. so enjoy being the majority.

what haven't you gotten to do? when someone says "there's no white person college fund", does it matter if that person didn't even apply to college yet? i want to know why this affects your life... does it yet? or are you just freaking yourself out?

continued... my spouse had to change careers too. i'm next in line. you have to adapt to changing circumstances. i'm sorry your husband got his hours cut, but you said you saw it coming. my parents haven't even been employed in ten years, my dad has been a consultant that whole time. this is why my mother is going to law school at 60. why should your husband be entitled to one job forever? the auto industry has been taking these hits for 30 years, engineering has been for the last 10. it still does not make you a minority. cry me a river.... my spouse was unemployed for 17 months and i put his *** through school to change careers. suck it up and make up a plan b.

it sounds like it's his employer's fault for breaking the rules. that is not the fault of minorities, that's his boss who chose to fire your husband. or, it's your husband's fault for being the one they elected to fire. welcome to earth.

Huh? As of 2004, 80.4% of the United States was white. How does special treatment have anything to do with who is the "minority"?
