I am going to be a freshman in highschool. We have football practices called doubles which is two practices in a row. I have these all week and I was wondering what would be good foods to eat for lunch inbetween without getting cramps or throwing up when i play again>?

Bananas are perfect for double-days, two-a-days or doubles whatever you wanna call them. The potassium helps you get through the toughest week for high school footballers.

Make sure you're eating breakfast and dinner too. Drink water and stay hydrated. Don't over do it, keep it consistentI used to take two 2-liter bottles the night before double days, fill them halfway with water, then shove em in the freezer. The next morning, I would take them out, fill them the rest of the way with water, and have cold water all day long. Wasn't long before the whole team did it.

On the way home from practice, I'd have 2 Gatorades waiting for me in the car. Gotta replace those electrolytes and keep the carbs going.

Yeah protein is all good, but carbs are what's gunna give you the energy not only to survive double days, but excel. Last I checked you're not just trying to "make the team" but trying to start right?

Don't over eat in between practices. Keep lunch simple and light, and try to concentrate more on sleep than anything. Having something like a chicken breast with fruit and Gatorade should be the perfect deal. Filling but light. Also try to have an Apple in the morning and another before the 2nd practice. Them being high on the glycemic index provides you energy for a long time rather than having an energy spike from something like a Red Bull. The upswing in energy is good, but the downfall is bad.

Good luck!

When I'm training hard, but I need calories from a meal that won't leave me throwing up, I go for good ole ramen noodles and tuna or chicken. It's light, tons of carbs and protein, and it's full of salt, which I need because of how much I sweat.

Other than that, a power bar works good to take the edge off just before you start working again.

Something I do recommend is getting a good amount of water down a minimum of 10-15 minutes before you eat. That way it's not sloshing around in your gut diluting the acid and making the food linger. Stay away from Gatorade and that crap--it's all marketing. If I find myself cramping, it's because I didn't drink enough water. For a quick fix, I keep a bottle of Pedialyte (children's drink) for just such an occasion. But it's better to drink more water earlier on!

It more likely means you are seriously co-dependant. If 2 people want to do well as a couple, they both have to be people who can also function independently. I love my wife, but can still manage to eat lunch if she isn't nearby. She can have fun without me being there. Vice-versa. In other words we don't NEED each other to be complete. We choose to be together because we LOVE each other.
