Why Stephen King name the clown IT? I mean in the movie you could have a whole hour long conversation on the freaking clown:

girl-IT's coming!!
boy- what's coming?
girl-IT!
boy- Who's it?!
girl- The clown!
boy-what about the clown?
girl- IT's coming?
boy- Who's it?
girl -The clown!!
lol. Sorry I'm so bored.

Lolz, I see what you mean. Stephen King just wanted to be creative. That is what authors do...they spend their time being creative.

It is the suspense of not knowing what IT is until IT gets there.
My question is "WHY a CLOWN?" If your kids see the movie you can't even take them to the circus anymore. They'd be yelling and crying "IT is here!"

It is called "IT" because it is not just a clown, it just is...If you have read the book, you would understand..the clown is just a mask..really, "IT" is concentrated evil, and the clown and the spider are just manifestations of that evil
