Who played vynal records backwards to try and hear hidden messages?

Are backwards messages just a joke by the band or accident as it just sounds like that?

Well firstly there is backmasking, this is when a sound is deliberatly recorded onto a track backwards and i think the beatles where the first guys to try that....or should i say George Martin there is some controversy over that issue. Then there is the crap about backward messages from the devil, stick any album on and play it backwards and eventualy you'll find something that sounds like someone say 'granny has a devil in her night dress'. If you do hear anything and it's clear, it is more likely to be backmasking

Yeah, there's a backward message on Pink Floyd's The Wall, and also Prince's Purple Rain.

There's definitely one on Pink Floyd's The Wall..side 2. The message is embedded just before the track 'Empty Spaces' The message said."Congratulations, you have just discovered the secret message. Please send your answers to Old Pink, care of the funny farm, Chalfont.? I think it's a reference to Syd Barrett, former member.

Beatles Sgt Peppers Album or it might have been White Album no I'm sure it was Sgt Peppers one of the songs at the end if you reverse it said I'm going to Fu*k you like superman

i do evrytime i buy a vynal (dont care if i spelt it wrong!) it has become a habbit. but i have yet to reseve any messages from the devil!

I tried it with a Black Sabbath L.P once. The message came at the end. It said, "You've just f*cked your stylus."

There were apparetnly satanic messages in Madonna's "Justify my love" - I remember something about it on channel 4's "The Word" years ago............
