First of all are any of the people answering no to illegal immigration are natives americans?
Second all the immigrants italians, hispanics, chinese, etc. when they came here almost everyone of them where illegal immigrants that where granted us citizenship later. In fact some of them escaped their countries illegaly, making them also illegal immigrants.
Third none of the people here know how difficult is to get a visa outside the United States to come here legally and I understand the people that can't.
Fourth Almost every illegal immigrant pay taxes with TIN (Tax Identification Number), or using somebody else Social Security Number, and they don't receive any benefit. So that's around a billion dollar that IRS has in excess.
Fifth 99.999% of immigrants just want to work and make a good living, realize the "American Dream" just like everybody else.

That is not exactly the right question, since millions of them are here whether they are "allowed" or not. And they will continue to come as long as the United States is a more desirable place to live than wherever they come from. There is no way to prevent people from coming here, unless we want to close all of the airports, all of the ports, and all of the roads entering this country. The question is what to do with the people who are here. These include people who have overstayed their visas, people who have crossed the border illegally, parents who have children born in the United States, and whose children are therefore entitled to stay here, and many other circumstances. Immigration is a very complicated issue, and there are no simple solutions for these problems.

Corporations behave like a light for illegal immigrant moths. There must be severe, effective penalties for hiring illegals and for hiring subcontractors employing illegals including big fines and jail time.

When the light goes out, the illegal immigration will slow to a trickle, and then the best solutions for cutting off that flow will become apparent. But if the US starts building huge walls and making other crazy moves without fixing the demand for illegal immigrant labor, people will continue hiding in shipping containers and they will SCALE the wall, because it's like a moth to the flame!

it is disapointing and sad to see the hatred and misunderstanding coming from many of those who decided to answer this question. Most often than not we tend to forget that this country or better yet the "norms" or guide lines of what an american should be, or look like, meaning blond hair blue eyes light skin was founded by none other than immigrants. Exibit A the pilgrims. i am speaking from personal knowledge here so bear with me. We tend to say that they take jobs away from us, that immigrants are pretty much supported by the tax payers ie: welfare wic food stamps etc etc. However you will not find many anglos/ americans who would like many of the jobs many of these immigrants have taken for example now that our society has become more of a service savy (meaning we want people to do the things we dont want to do, for us) you will see a higher percentage of minorities, which usually turn out to be immigrants, doing these jobs for us. The people who have aquired a job doing these things get paid very little money.like one of the others who aswered kindly said (and proved my point) he pays them very little money. The amount is so pathetic that anyone else would turn up their noses at it. Secondly i work for the offices of public aid at the front desk overseeing the waiting room. Usually there will be a higher number of caucasians and african americans than hispanics which again sadly turn out to be the immigrants. I SAY THIS WITH NO INTENSION OF OFFENDING ANYONE.Like i said earlier these are only my personal opinions and things that i have witnessed. We cannot sit here and say that that they are not paying taxes either since there is a number given to these peple specially for that purpose. We are talking to law abiding people who come from countries so poor!, that trying to feed their families in their countries is almost imposible. A large number of these immigrant we are trying to kick out have dedicated their lifes to this country. And sometimes are by far better citizens than those who truly are legal (look at your street corners what do you see? gangs fighting and causing trouble, most of those gang members are natural born citizens) It is understandable that they are breaking a law. however shouldnt we be flattered that we are in such a high pedestal in the eyes of these people being called one of the greatest nation in the world and we are going to turn our backs on those who truly need our help? We will deny those who are thirsty a cup of water when the gallon is only 37cents. All im saying is that i hope that if we ( this nation) ever gets thirsty we wont be denied a glass of water.

Illegal immigration means that it's against the law to illegally enter the country. If they want to live and work here, then they need to follow the rules like everyone else who came to this country seeking a better life. I think its a slap in the face to all people who emigrated to this country legally, followed the rules and made this country so desirable.

Actually, I think the US should get out of their countries & stop outsourcing jobs to Third World countries where these people dont have a chance to make any kind of a living that they think it's better here, working for cash which is probably more than what they can make in their own countries. Like living that way is better. Wake up people. They probably dont have any other choice

Allowed? Well i think they should have the same opportunity, as long as they go thru all the bueracratic red tape, to make themselves legal. I mean jeez we can't even fly with shampoo and hairspray anymore. If they are already here, not much to do. If they want in, well in order to be fair and secure, i do think we need them to fill out all the proper paper work. Otherwise it's not much different than handing our country over. With Terrorism on the rise, what do you think?

yes they shouldnt be allowed IN but if they are already IN then why waste money removing them. Better to just concentrate on sealing the borders than to have a witchunt that will obviously target non-white people who do not speak perfect english..
