If you can't remove the electronic component to launder it, then you need to scrub the exterior by hand. Mild dish liquid works well. Use a nail brush to scrub any really dirty spots, the rest can be wiped with a cloth.
Only use very little soap as you don't want any residue left on the toy. When you are finished cleaning it, wipe it with a cloth and water only to remove any soap.
Don't spray with any disinfectants or harsh chemicals like Lysol as this will stay in the fabric and your baby could ingest this poison when he/she puts the toy in his/her mouth.

Most of the stuffed animals have velcro on the back that allows you to remove the electronics for washing or change the batteries.
Also, you can put stuffed animals in a trash bag and put a vacuum hose inside the bag and then hold the bag around the vacuum hose. This will help get dust and dirt out of stuffed animals or pillows.

My son has a little bear with a musical wind up that he has in his crib and he got sick one night and nailed it. I wiped it clean with disinfecting clothes, sprayed it with Lysol and placed it in a sealed plastic bag with a few dryer sheets for a couple of days and it was fine.

you don't, you need to buy another one. any cleaner is made out of water and you can not clean it because it will leak into the inside and damage the electronic noise.
