ok first of all, they have BOTH released some of the worst albums EVER... Risk, Countdown, Youthanasia, Load, Reload, Black Album, St Anger.
But when they WERE good I'd say Megadeth, because RUST IN PEACE is the best thrash album EVER. MOP, Justice and RTL
are great, but not as good as RIP.
NOW, I'd STILL pick Megadeth, 'cause of The System Has Failed. I just hope they get even METAL-er. I'd love a RIP2!
Reasons why Megadeth is better than Metallica.
1. Mustaine can play CIRCLES around Hetfield.
2. Lars can't play. Everyone of Megadeth's drummers is better.
3. You can HEAR the BASS player on Megadeth's CDs.
4. Chris Poland is better than Kirk Hammett.
5. Marty Freidman is better than Kirk Hammett.
6. Peace Sells...But Who's Buying?
7. The System Has Failed is actually METAL, unlike St Anger.

I saw Megadeth only once back in the early 90's on a triple bill with flotsam and jetsam and with Korn. It was a rocking show. I will however have to say it is METALLICA! Those guys rock after 20+ years. Besides that James Hetfeild went to my highshools rival school Downey High. I went to Warren.

******* Megadeth owns metallica. Any member in metallica isnt as good as mustaine by far. I mean ******* come on metallica's lyrics blow *** chunks....megadeth's lyrics on the other hand actually mean something. Plus megadeth has a bunch of good songs (that dont sound the same, and are actualy different.)

Growing up, Metallica was better, but I have not enjoyed their newer stuff as much. I like Megadeth's current stuff more. Both are great in concert. Metalica's "And Justice for All Tour" was the best.

well Metallica these days is good but not as good, Megadeth is good but if it was the 80's Metallica i would choose them so i would say Metallica with hopes of them playing all their old stuff but can we have Megadeth open up for them instead of Leaking Fart (Linkin Park) they are very bad men i saw the at a certain club i went to but i dont want to let it out & destroy their carreers.

I prefer Jame's voice over Dave's and their songs such as:

Fade to Black
Seek and Destroy
Welcome Home (Sanitarium)
Creeping Death

actually just about everything off of Ride the Lightening, Master of Puppets and Justice for all...

metallica. there music has more memories for me. megadeth can rock too. it is a hard choice.
