On a personal game? No reason not too - however, every time you cheat don't forget you're cheating yourself out of a good time.
For example: Sims 2 - I cheated like there was no tommorow. When people bring up Sims 2 I can talk to them about the game, because I did play it and I enjoyed it quiet a bit - however, I never bought any expansions, and really? I played it for only 2-3 weeks, and then stopped. It became boring, since day 1 I had the "ultimate" of everything, and I just kind of messed around on it, and got bored. There was nothing to do, I was at the end.
Cheating can be good when necessary. Some games make it fun - in GTA games you can make yourself a "mess around" save file and just run around with ultimate weapons; our friends tried to see how long they could stay alive w/ ultimate weapons, armor, health, etc: and just run around like crazy.
My friend that didn't cheat completed the game, then cheated, and played with us. I never finished the game - it became boring, since, it was not challenging.
Really, the argument is silly: and tell people that - douchebag, stop arguing it's a stupid topic. You cheat and you have fun but then it's boring. You don't cheat, and you accomplish something, but you didn't have as much fun (though you can still cheat later) - it's really up to you, and you CAN cheat in games, mostly, because it was put in there on PURPOSE for fun. Replay value.
(this, of course, is talking about video games)

Never cheat on an online game. It's that obvious. But for a console game, only cheat if you are completely stuck and you do whatever you can to get past a level, or area, but just can't, then use a cheat to get past just that part... if you can. Or use a cheat to make a game more fun, if it is boring.

I think it's pointless. Why play the game if you aren't going to be it on your own? But then again I guess that makes me a semi-hypocrite since I'll beat the game once and go back with cheats and a strat guide so that I can find everything I missed. I rarely use actually cheats though, just walkthroughs. I just want to know where things are, I can get them myself!

Its just a game console and a game, its ok to cheat or use cheat codes. Its not like the code police are going to come and give u a felony charge for infinite ammo LOL.

never cheat on online games! and cheating on a personal game, it just depends if the cheat makes the game more fun, after all, you are suppose to have fun.

If it's offline, cheating is fine. But I hate cheaters that are online.

i like to play it out without cheats. but at times, if i really need to use it (very seldom) i will use it.
