There are people here who will buy into any conspiracy theory you care to dream up. But, they may not be able to read your question while they are wearing their tin foil hats.

It certainly looks like a good candidate for that kind of conspiracy, but the back-story is too complete and HIVs introduction into the population of developed countries was done too thoroughly to be a product of our government. Who else could pull off such a scheme and make it look like an accident?
What are the factors that led to an AIDS epidemic? An increase in world travel, looser sexual morality, improper handling of materials, difficulty in identifying infected persons, slow response with education, treatment and so on.
As much as I would like to point a finger and blame someone, HIV is something that happened in much the same way the plague happened in Europe a thousand years ago.
And we hadn't gotten very good with genetic engineering until after HIV started- perhaps HIV was even part of the reason for the past 10-15 years of major advances in genetics.
Just my opinion.

In a medical point of view it's impossible. We can modify a virus but we can't make one. If HIV was a modification of some virus we would have found a way to kill it long ago. An animal type of HIV was first discovered in central Africa among higher apes.Scientist believe the human type is a result of the mutation of the animal type. I always give an ear to conspiracy theories but I'm sorry ,this time that HIV theory you're talking about, is nothing but non sense :)

Simmion Immunity Virus appears naturally in Monkeys. Sciencests believe one of two things happened:

1.) Africans eat monkeys as a delicacy. At some point, a piece of monkey meat was either undercooked or contained an unusually potent SIV vector. The virus adapted to the human body and began to spread.

2.) Some scientists believe that in there rush to create a polio vaccine, the scientists working in Africa used monkeys containimated with SIV as a test for the polio vaccine. The virus learned how polio works and by learining that, it could enter human bodies.

The second one is more of a consipiracy theory though.

it is strange how HIV and aids just kind of showed up isn't it? showing up in a time of sexual revolution as like a natural population check maybe. some may say its an act of god. or other believe it adapted from primates in Africa. whatever the case, it came from Africa, but its hard to trace how or when because their culture has no sexual boundaries. i think it will remain a mystery.

The emergence of HIV substantially predated the technology needed to engineer it.

You must have read, that book about, this same subject........My sister, read it,and gave it to a girl,in our apartments, who had a brother, who was dieing from it, for her to read, to comfort her a little bit......But, instead, she "Cussed" my sister out, and told her how mean and cruel, it was too give her a book, about "Hope" for her, when she knew her brother, was going to die!!! What a mean girl, to do that, to my sister!!! I was too busy in those times to read it myself, but, I do believe, what my sister told me, and what your saying as well.........I wouldn't be surprised, if Hepititus, is also, stemmed from different medicines people, take.....That they some how come in contact with it, because, of the meds effecting their liver, so badly, that they label it as something they caught from, other means.........Dont dare, question, the Medical Pharmacy's, or Doctors, its all just "OUR" faults, for sure, right!! They, of course, could never, be wrong......Its Medical Politics, that's what I think..........And I'm going to school, this Fall, to get into the "Medical Field" and I'm also going to do my Homework, should I land a "Job" in this field, and if there's any Crooked Crap, going on, I'm "Out of there, for sure!!!" But, yes, I do believe it is genetically engineered, for sure!!!!

Nobody with any sense. Not only is there utterly no evidence of such a thing, but we are simply not yet good enough at genetic engineering to do such a thing if we wanted to.

We need the facts to back up that theory Otherwise it is pointless to argue. Opinions are useless. Facts tell the story.
