You can buy screens on Ebay and replace it yourself if you're up to it.
There's nothing wrong with iPods, it's the only thing Apple made that is useful.

Go to apple's site, find the section on ipod support, and then they will have a mailing address, where you can send your ipod and for 1-200 dollars, they will replace it.
Or, you can find an ipod that is broken for some other reason on ebay or something, open both of them and exchange the screens.
