you can do one of two things:

If you are using Windows ME (Milennium Edition), Windows 2000, or Windows XP, you can click START --> Programs --> Accessories --> System Restore. This option allows you to restore your computer to a "Restore Point" to an earlier time. However, if it has been quite a while since you bought it, this won't work, since System Restore only allows to go back a few months.
Another option can be re-installing the Operating System. This is usually in a Restoration CD that comes with the computer when you bought it (brand new, of course). If it was bought brand new, and no Restoration CD came with it, it may have a Partition Hard Drive in it that allows you to restore the computer completely. This option is available as soon as the computer is turned on, but be quick, because the screen only appears a couple of seconds, and you'd have to restart it to see it again.
Whichever method you try, it isn't possible to just reboot a computer in a brand-new state.

There is no way to do what you want through simply "rebooting". Rebooting a computer is just a euphism for turning the computer off and on.

It sounds like what you really want to do is to "restore" the computer to the condition it was in when you first got it. Fortunately, most manufactures include a "Restore" CD with the computer. In most situations, you would simply insert the Restore CD into the CD drive and "reboot". As the computer starts up, it will detect the Restore CD and ask you if you want to Restore the computer to the Manufacturer's Original Configuration, etc. You would answer Yes. But beware, most Restore CD's are DESTRUCTIVE. They will completely erase all of your files and programs from the computers' hard drive. So, if you have a big folder full of MP3 files, you might want to make a backup first.

If your computer did not come with a Restore CD, then you have two choices. You could call the maker on the phone and ask them to send you one, (think $$$), or else go to a computer store and buy a copy of Microsoft Windows XP and install it. (even more $$$$$).

If you really want to do a total reboot, just pull the plug. I think you meant "How do I restore a computer like if It was when I got it? To do this you need a system restore CD. If you don't have one you may be able to get one from whoever built the PC. If the PC is still under warranty they should just give you one, but if it's a few years old some companies will send you one for about $5. Good Luck!

You have to re-format the hard drive. You can create an "F" disc with your computer, just search the help files for directions, and boot off the disc it creates for you. You had better be sure because everything including Windows and all your files will be deleted and you'll have to re-install everything. And anything earlier than windows 2000 may require a set of boot discs. You may also have to enter your Set-up screen to set the computer to boot from the CD or floppy, depending on what your f - disc is going to be. And, any non-plug 'n play hardware will need the drivers re-installed as well.
Good luck. You may want your local computer shop to do it for you if you're not sure.
