Quality of life is critical in any relationship. If it is not meeting your needs, if you're brutally unhappy...

You need to define "committed". To me that means a determination to make things work, coupled with expending the time, thought, energy and effort to make that happen. If you actually are "committed" and done the things that need done, but the relationship still is not meeting your core life needs and there is little likelihood of it ever doing so, then what's the point of committing even more resources to something that does not produce any benefits?

Are you married? If you intend to get married, consider the part of "for richer or for poorer" very seriously. If you cannot make peace with this, then you should go.
