Monistat or any of the generic forms of creams for yeast infections are effective. Follow the instructions on the box. Cost is anywhere from $10.00-$20.00. If the itching does not stop after a few days, you should see a doctor.

If it is a yeast, there are several over the counter products such as Lotrimen, Vagisil etc. If it is due to a Trichomonas {greenish discharge} it requires an oral Rx for Flagyl.

I use Monistat for that kind of problem, but be sure to ask your doctor if the itching worsens or doesn't get better because it could be an infection.

Vagisil is good. But if you have over a long period of time or if it comes back, go to the doctor.
