when we first met he kissed me passionately but now he holds back. when i asked him why, he said he doesn't want to kiss me the way he kissed with his ex! he's had problems with her since we've been together (now one year) but i thought we'd got past that. Will he let go of this or will we never kiss with passion again?

baby girl, this is not good. he associate a good kiss with his emotion toward his ex. you have to set him straight. tell him that don't tie-in a kiss with some bad experience. it's just not fair to you. he needs to let go of the past, and it's up to him to do so.

As soon as I read your question I knew the answer... yes a kiss is a kiss...BUT a passionate kiss stirs emotions of his ex who he hasnt got over. He hasnt kissed you properly for a year? if he doesnt kiss you passionately when you make love either...its time to face harsh reality he gets over her or you find the new love you so deserve.Dont beat yourself up you deserve better. Im a mature lady and I speak from bitter experience and regret.Good Luck.

A kiss is just a kiss. As long as he can still do the other things with sufficient passion, I don't think it should be a big deal.

I don't believe that he's over his ex-girlfriend. It seems like he still has strong feelings for her and by him not being able to kiss you tells me that he still thinks about her.
