I've used cotton batting even in full-size quilts and it's completely washable as long as you quilt it thoroughly. If you leave more than a few inches between lines of quilting the cotton will shift and bunch.

I've never seen cotton batting that wasn't washable. You will want to make sure it's not going to shrink. Read the package before you use it to make sure you know all the things that you need to. If you no longer have the packaging go to the store and read theirs. They won't mind because if you do that, you'll be more likely to purchase more from them in the future.

Check the label on the package. You should be able to wash it yourself. I have many times and it still looks great.
