You know: pen, paper, envelope, stamp - that sort of thing.
I love getting letters and postcards. It's just nice, isn't it?
Are there reputable penpal schemes out there that don't include people looking for love, money or visas?

If you like to decorate your envelopes with art work (even computer art) there are lots of people in the Art Cover Exchange who write letters with each art envelope they send. Look at http://www.artcoverexchange.org/ to find out what the group is all about. People are very friendly and accepting of whatever efforts you make, and you can exchange as often or as seldom as you choose.

Yes they do. Let's not forget that not everybody has access to a PC, be it for economic reasons or sheer remoteness. There's still a magic about the written letter that this cannot replace. You consider your words, you have to have patience while the letter's in transit, and there's the anticipation of waiting for it to come through the letterbox.
