All In The Family. Extremely thought provoking. It actually was a dark comedy that focused on the bigotry of Archie Bunker, The stupidity/innocence of Edith, and the excessive liberalism of Michael Stivak.

I hate to admit it, and I don't know if it's strictly a sitcom, but I LOVE Some Mothers Do Have 'Em, with Michael Crawford. However many times I see an episode, it still makes me laugh! Showing my age - I remember it first time round!

"All In The Family" with Archie Bunker. Simply because of Carroll O'Connor's ability to speak as a bigot with a 2nd grade education while he boasted a PhD in English.
