If one believes that religion should not dictate such topics as abortion because religion is based on faith and is not scientifically provable, than all things unprovable must be excluded as well. Such things include the soul, the birth of a human conscience and freewill, and the beginning of human life (not just legally, even blacks were once NOT human legally).

Without such debates, why would an unborn child (especially with a formed brain, heart, and lungs) not be considered a "pre-adolescent"? What science proves unborn children are not immature living humans?

Religion aside, the fact is that a human life begins at conception (and no, sperm and ova by themselves are not human life, just building blocks if you will) and this is backed up by science.

Murder is killing an innocent human. It's not rocket science!

So many people are for abortion in order to exploit women or to place their own convenience above the life of a child. Sad.

Technically, an unborn child was not considered to be a living human by the Church until the Quickening (when the mother first feels the child's independent movement within the womb) until I think the early 20th century (I don't remember exactly when). This occurs in the third trimester, after the fetus is considered too advanced for a legal abortion.

Also, while I personally can't see myself having an abortion, I think it is necessary for the society we live in to have abortion remain legal. Otherwise, girls are just going to do what they think they have to, and there will be no governing authority to make sure that the procedures are done safely.

Another quick point: unborn babies are "immature living humans" unless you think someone's pregnant with an alien.

Plus, in the US, being pregnant is equivalent to having a disease. Just ask an insurace company.

um...it's called medicine, maybe you've heard of it? And the reason that religion should not enter into the LEGAL debate over abortion is because it is UNlawful to use religion as a guideline for legislation. you christians are wacky folk.
so, in reality the unborn featus is not fully formed the brain is not fully formed until after adolescence, along with the nervous system, muscular and skeletal systems.
But your failed logic isn't the point. Look, you don't want to have an abortion DON'T it's that easy. Don't have sex, get fixed, whatever. But you do not have the right to tell me what to do with my body. period. I know how you religious folks like to get on your high horse and tell us all what we're doing wrong, but maybe instead of judging the rest of us you should learn about what your profit had to say....Remeber that bit about "judge not, lest YE be judged"? sounds familar? It's none of your business what other people do. Stop being ignorant of the world you live in!

An unborn child is just that...an unborn child, a life, a person. There would be extremely rare cases that I would ever think it was ok to murder a defenseless child. Religion has nothing to do with life and the right to live. For anyone who doesn't want someone making decision about what they are going to do with THEIR body...well when you kill an unborn, you made that decision for them and snuffed out their life.

unborn children are living beings who are not full developed, We take away that potential when we administer abortions. That is why when a fetus is killed from a crime against his mom, the charges are doubled. Why then should people be allowed to obtain an abortion? The laws regarding this are not consistent.

You need to learn a little bit about a thing called 'science'.
