I know at one point Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s 2003 Dover accident was being compared to Kyle Petty's Bristol accident and Jerry Nadeau's Richmond accident! How have the others compared since then? I know Jeff Gordon and Kasey Kahne have had some hard hits, but I don't know if they come close...it's hard to tell on tv! I'm sure I didn't name some...so feel free to add any...even though I am more curious as to recorded incidents!

Anyone heard or read anything lately about recordings pulled from the black box, recently?

Well, technically the hardest hit ever recorded by Nascar's black box technology was in the ARCA series. The accident involved Frank Kimmel, Steve Kinser, and Scott Sharp.
According the numbers Sharp hit the backstretch wall in Daytona at the IROC race in Feb 06 and the recorded force was 84 G's.

A while back there was an accident that came close, but the driver really wasn't into talking about G's and stuff..and I don't think the number was ever realeased, but it was said that it was a lot harder than Jeff Gordon's hit at Pocono, which was the 3rd hardest recorded on the black box.

I dont know about the black box numbers. But Micheal Waltrips hit at Bristol was the hardest and most violent i have ever seen. There was nothing left of that car

I read that before Junior's hit, that Kyle Petty's hit at Bristol was the hardest. But it said Junior's hit at Dover was much harder than Kyle's, according to the black box. Junior's didn't even look that bad. Glad that they were both okay, though! :)

Micheal Waltrip had one of the hardest hits ever at Bristol in April 1990s bush race. I think that explains alot of why he is still goofy today.

Kahne's hit had to be up there on Sunday. He hit the wall head on and the car actually jumped backwards. Good thing nascar has the safety regs that they do now.

Kasey Kahne's hit on Sunday. It was a hard hit. Or his New Hamphere hit last year.
