I've been in this situation myself. Ideally your problem is foot trauma caused by contact shock. Every time you step it is a more intense impact because the concrete has no give. Your footwear should create give. Its not about being soft exactly. The majority of your problems probably come from the heal, and can also affect the palm on your foot as well. That part originates from the heal. Its because they are linked together. You want a boot that has a softer sole then normal. On top of that you will want some shock absorbing foot pad of some sort. Dr. Scholl's makes some good ones. Because your on your feet quite a bit too, it would be a very smart choice to choose the airated kind. That allows extra give in the sole, as well as a fresher feeling foot. Get whatever works best with your arch setup.

Spend alittle extra and get yourself a pair of Redwings. I've had a pair of Wellington boots for them for 30yrs. I work as a Lab Tech and I'm on my feet all day and these are the only boots that do not hurt at the end of the day.

my boyfriend is also on his feet all day on concrete and his feet started getting so bad he couldnt even walk...we read up on it and spurs can actually develop if you dont care for your feet properly....he ended up buying a good pair of boots with thick soles and also put gel ins in his boots, make sure your boots are tight too for extra support....his feet are getting a lot better now...also if you read about sore feet they say at night when you are done working to put them up and put ice on them, take ibuprofen and if you have to tape them....good luck

you need to soak your feet in hot water and epsom salt...you can get that from a drug store or target for $1.50.
Also try wearing Croc shoes...they are the best. I have a pair and thats all i wear and my ankles use to swell up all the time and now i am all better

if you can afford them (around £120 sterling?) m.b.t's (masai barefoot technology) shoes are incredible, they are made in such a way as your foot pivots hence making sure your posture is correct, you really notice a difference after a few days and posture and backache etc definately improve,im sure you can check out on the web, give them a go they really work.
mbt's good quality swiss designed.
