Yes, in so many ways. The best example is the Pulitzer prize winning picture that is said to have been a major factor in ending the American war on Vietnam. A BBC news article says that "Vietnamese photographer Nick Ut describes the day in June 1972 when he photographed a nine-year-old girl, Kim Phuc, fleeing her village after a napalm attack - a picture that won him a Pulitzer prize.".

a peice of art can be seen in so many diffrent ways by diffrent people, for example the mona lisa, is she happy? in love? lonly? or just posing for a painting? so many posabilytys and we dont know witch 1 is right! we could spend the rest of out lives trying to guess and never know.
so yes a picture can speek a 1000 words

its an expression but if you think about it if theres a pose you could come up with 1000 meanings like two people smiling are they happy faking it mad angry etc
