We have ants in our home...everywhere...especially the pet food. I can't get rid of them, I've tried traps, spraying, and borax...nothing seems to work. There are "scouts" EVERYWHERE in the house, the bathroom, I've even seen them on my bed!!! What can I do to make them leave and stay out???

Believe it or not, Windex kills ants. After killing the visible ants in the house, spray a light mist around the area that they are coming in. You just have to remember to refresh the area after shampooing or washing. It really does work.

Buy some 20Mule Team borax laundry soap, the trick is you have to leave it down until you no longer see any signs of the ants. Buy one of the ketchup squeeze bottles at a dollar store. Put the dry laundry soap in it and apply along base boards, cabinets and around where your drain pipes and water lines come in. Leave it lay for a few days or until you no longer see any signs of the ants, they will carry it back to their nest and it will kill them, I have used this method for years and my grandmother also used it. This year has been bad for ants, in my kitchen area I have done this twice this year......when your pets aren't eating put their bowl into a plastic bag and seal it so the ants can't get to it. After they are gone you can leave the pet bowl down.

I use one of 2 products,,whichever is available to you...Both work quickly.
Raid has a liquid ant killer. put a couple of drops in an unobtrusive place wherever you see them. usually on the floors. If you care to watch for a very short while you will notice that the ants run to it, & drink or eat it.....They disappear & within 12-24hrs..no more....it kills the Queen & the whole colony....
Green cross has the same type of product ...Its called Ant-B-gon It works the same way & has the same results...
Both come in an 100ml bottle which will last me more than a year. Easy & CHEAP.........both can be used indoors & out....

CINNAMON! If you can find where they are coming in pour a straight line across the opening. If not, sprinkle across door thresholds, on window sills, around baseboards, and at the backs of counters. When it's really bad, I will sprinkle it on my counters and leave overnight & presto! no more ants. Won't hurt your animals or children either, unlike pesticides and boric acid. I also use in my vegetable garden. The minute I sprinkle it, the ants make a "bee-line" out of that area and go around any other area that I've sprinkled already. BELIEVE ME, IT WORKS!
