No matter the reason or justification God says 'Thou shall not kill' and that's exactly what He means. If you become pregant no matter how, it is meant to be a life. You do not have to keep the child and to use the excuse that it may have been deformed, retarted, etc is not a reason to kill. Would you go to a handicapped persons home and kill them because they are not "normal". Or go shoot someone who was born with an arm missing because they are 'deformed'? Of course not, so PLEASE dont do it to someone who cant protect themselves either.

Sometimes that may seem like the only option but believe me it will kill your soul and you will never be the same.

i had an abortion at 18 because i knew that i wasn't fit to be a parent. i was forced into becoming pregnant and having been in care i knew that i wouldn't put my worst enemy through that. there was also a high chance that my child would be deformed because of the medication i was on at the time. I went on to have a child at a later date but it was a life changing decision. i felt that it was the right thing to do by my child, having had a child later I would argue that although babies are expensive that is not a reason alone to have an abortion, i deeply regret having to make that choice and at the end of the day I shouldn't have become pregnant if the time and likely hood of a healthy child were that bad.

Twice. Money had little to do with it. I was unmarried and was not ready emotionally and intellectually. I would have made a poor mother if I had gone through with the pregnancies. I had very little to offer a child, including a father, at the time.

Since then, I've obtained a degree, become a nurse, gotten married, gotten divorced, had an autistic son and, according to all who know me, been an excellent mother. I had a child when I felt I was ready. I have no regrets about the abortions..none whatsoever.

I have anticardio lipid disease. Which cause me to throw blood clots anywhere in my body. I would get pregnant and then the baby would die, my body wouldn't just abort the child after it died, so I would have to go in time and time again to have an abortion. Each time it tore my heart out, 25 years and finally a doctor and medicine came about and I had my children, all premature and one with disabilities. Doctors told me I would never get pregnant again after loosing so many children. But I did.

Now let me say this. I think we have no right to tell another what to do with their lives in less we take on the responsibilities to financially help that individual. It is easy for anyone to give another a religous or moral answer to this question.

But I have never met one person who helped someone financially who was going to have an abortion because they couldn't afford to raise a child and so many condemn that person but not one of those people took that person in, gave them a home and helped them turn their life around so that they could keep that child, or pay the bills of having a child and give them the financial support to raise a child, not to mention the emotional support.

So I don't think I can answer for those who might have had one, but I would like those who condemn people who do, take one person who wants to have one into your home for 18 years and emotionally and financially support the woman so she won't have it, then and only then can you say something that there are alternatives to these woman. Saying there are alternative without the person personally giving up their lives and income to help the other I feel should not make a comment. If people believe that this is immoral I say then take the moral high ground and take that woman into your home and give that living soul a new and better life along with her unborn child. Don't condemn without a solution to the problem.

I had mine because of carrying a child who had already died because of a genetic disease that I inherited, but I would never judge another woman, if I couldn't support her daily in her life.

And for those who will say anything I must admit, I too was raped at 14, I became pregnant from that rape, and had my child. This is when the disease first became apparent. I raised that child alone without any help from anyone and believe me people condemned me for keeping a child from rape and so early in life. I will tell you this, I didn't listen to all those people who judged, my child is grown and after they married, I got married and went through loosing children. But that was me, I met many girls who had abortions for many different reasons, no one ever gave them any alternatives. I still help single mothers and speak to woman about life choices. However, I would never judge another woman for her choice in her life. People hurt, judged me for keeping a child so I think people in society will always judge. Just like in another question people were judging the poor who keep having kids and they can't afford them. So we can't please society, we must live for ourselves and our dreams, and live with our choices, no one can make them for us or should they judge anyone for the choices they make. None of us are God, and for those of you who say it's against the teachings in the Bible. I say read more your Bible for Jesus says "Who are you to Judge..."
