not enough. The panda has evolved a metabolic process that is inconducive to longevity of the species. They only eat bamboo, and this is very low in calorific value. This specificity means that the panda cannot adapt to regions where bamboo does not grow, and as this is harvested its natural habitat and numbers are in decline. Its metabolic processes are likewise very slow, so when they breed, it takes a long long time for the cub to grow as the milk is so thin. All this means that pandas are destined for extinction through their evolutionary "choices" - if we want to have pandas we need to figure out how to breed them successfully in captivity.
