I ran cross country years ago... it can be a lot of fun but hard work. Best advice: If you can handle ten miles a day, by all means do it. I ran that, and sometime more, each day during the summer. When the season started, I was really in peak condition and ran my best times. Unfortunately, with school and other responsibilities, my daily runs were often less than five miles a day... it certainly effected my racing... I was actually stronger in the beginning of the season rather than the end. I recommend trying to keep those daily runs at ten mile a day or more... I wish I had because I would have won more races.
