I'm using cotton for the top, flannel for the backing, but I am not sure what is best for inside: cotton batting, or just another layer of flannel? This is for a FLOOR blanket. Thanks

Batting over another layer of flannel is always preferable. Especially if it's going to be on the floor. Would you rather sit on batting or on flannel? I'd rather have the cusion of batting.

Most people use batting for hardwood type, but for carpets (and the most common type purchased by crafters) is flannel for the inside. It isn't too hot, doesn't get too dusty and is easy to clean.

If you do choose batting, be sure to air it out regularly by swatting it outside to release dust etc. You may want to do a duvet-type cover to clean it rather than taking it to the cleaners.

Carpet is quality for whilst the little one is learning to walk and all of that... A little little bit of additional cushioning when they fall. But later one, after they begin spilling stuff in all areas, you'll be cleansing oatmeal, milk, and all types of different beverages or condiments out of the carpet, that is a royal affliction within the butt. In a perfect international, i would opt for having hardwood in any discipline the position meals is worried. Then have carpet within the residing locations and don't permit the kiddies to provide meals/drink in there. Honestly, it's going to also be larger to have hardwood for the period of and simply have a few large rugs inside the residing locations. That what I had setting up up. We hire a condominium now that has carpet all for the period of the condominium, even inside the eating room! So i am slightly anti-carpet on the moment. There are all forms of toys that don't paintings on carpet, too... Cars and vehicles and trains and the entire lot else.
