How do I get my 3 month old to start taking more formula at a time so that he doesn't eat every two hours? He sleeps real well at night so I have no complaints there.

He still takes 4 ozs. at a time.

Try making him wait 10 extra minutes before you let him have the next bottle. At 4 months old I introduced my son to cereal to help with that.

Try to not feed him every two hours. Get him on an eating schedule. Feed him and then wait 3 hours, feed him again. Then next time around wait 4 hours and feed him again. Each time he should want alittle more because he is alittle more hungry. Try to keep him occupied. Maybe he isnt crying because he is hungry, maybe he is crying because he is bored. Also, Try to put alittle cerial in his bottles or spoon feed (I always did the cerial in bottle thing with alittle applesause and started that at a month and three weeks because he just wasnt getting enough) Give him cerial twice a day. Once in the morning and once at night. Maybe he just needs something to do...

If he is not eating anymore, don't force it on him. He is taking in exactly what he needs for right now. Don't worry, his appetite is going to increase before you know it. There are so many ups and downs when feeding. You should follow where your child leads, but also ask your pediatrician. They shouldn't be concerned either unless he is not gaining weight properly.

You really can't make your baby eat more unless you want spit up all over. Their tummy's are so small at that age, that's why you have to continually feed them. It's fact that babies eat every two to three hours at that age. It's not easy, but you're going to have to adapt. Good Luck!

Don't force your baby....He will eat more when he's ready....you can try putting 5 ozs of milk at a time and see if he wants to finish it or not....if he doesn't, don't force him...he will eat more when he's ready....

If his stomach will only accomodate 4 ounces, then there's not much you can do to "make" him want more. It isn't healthy to force feed a baby, and it wouldn't necessarily work anyway.

He will eat more on his own if he is still hungry. Maybe his stomach isn't big enough to handle more at this time.. just be patient!
