Try to stay away from spicy foods and alcohol.
A dermatologist can prescribe a topical cream or gel that will help prevent flare-ups.

Stay away from things that will irritate it more. Caffeine, alcahol, spicy foods. There are great creams out and skin care made for rosacea. Make an appointment with a dermatologist, there are even pills to take if you want to take that route. If its really bad, you can get laser treatments that will make all the broken veins and redness go away.

You really need to read "Rosacea Free Forever" by Laura Taylor (also available in electronic format here: http://www.rosaceafreeforever.info ). It's about how to permanently cure your Rosacea naturally. I cured my Rosacea permanently in only 4 days after reading this.

Stop paying paying each month good money on creams. This is exactly what the pharmaceutical industry wants you to do! They want to milk money from you each month.

Check with your dermatologist about rosacea triggers..some of the biggest things are the sun, too hot of a shower or steam, wine, avocados, plums..even tomatoes.

If you're using a cleanser or topical lotion..unfortunately you really need to use it every day, not just when you're flaring up (i learned this the hard way).

If I do eat/drink a trigger, I usually increase my usage of the topical lotion to either twice a day..or even three times...and i drink tons of water to flush it out of my system.

I have roseacea too. When it first started it was real bad!!!!!!!!!!!! The derm gave me 250 MG of tetracycyline once a day for a couple of months and at night after you wash your face apply METROGEL. This is the key. The Metrogel is standard medicine for roseacea. My first derm never gave it to me and I suffered for 2 years. then I got fed up and got a second opinion from another derm and he told me about it. He also could not understand why the first dr didn't put me on it. Also go to the drug store and get Eucerine Redness relief. They have a green tinted moisturizer that helps heal and the green nutralizes the red skin. Get on their website www.eucerine.com and get a free sample of the reddness relief line. All that I told you cleared up my skin. I don't even have to take pills anymore just the Metrogel. My face isn't even red anymore even when I go out in the sun! Good luck!

my roommate had roseacea and was told that it was also caused by allergens. perhaps an allergy test would help to determine what is cause the flare ups to begin with. also she was told to switch to a mild face cleaner like cetaphil and wash twice daily. she was also told to use all free and clear detergent to keep the perfumes and dyes away from her skin.

she used this website for information, give it a shot.
