My wife tried that. She promptly threw up. The fumes made her sick.

well im a beauty therapist and i wouldnt advise having acrylic nails done while you are pregnant. The chemicals used are toxic and possible could be harmful if breathed or absorbed by the skin/nails. I dont think there is actually any proof of the dangers but is a precaution. I would recommend having fibreglass nail extensions or gel nails as an alternative until you have had the baby.

yes you can. however do keep in mind that some women cannot keep those on their nails do to excess body oils. I had a friend that realized she was pregnant when her acrylic nails kept falling off.
and most women do not even want to due to the smell in the shop. try looking for a shop that is well ventilated. but doing so is fine.

I'm 30 wks and have nails on right now. I checked w/ my doc and it's perfectly ok to do so. In fact, I recommend it. With the crappy way I've been feeling..I needed to do SOMETHING to make me feel pretty =)

i did a couple times in the first trimester my babies fine but after that the smell made me sick so I quit. Don't know how safe it is to inhale the fumes. You can check with your ob :) and see what they think

It's really the fumes that are not good for you or the baby.
I'd hold off.
